Ministry of Health (M.O.H.) records three new COVID-19 related deaths.

A situational report released by the Government on Monday evening showed that the M.O.H. has recorded three new COVID-19 related deaths, and 2,214 community cases over the last seven days.

The situational report which covers the period of 2pm on the 17th of April to 2pm the 24th of April revealed that the total number of community cases is now confirmed at 8,280.

"Majority of community cases are confirmed in Upolu at 7,536 cases with 736 cases in Savaii and 8 cases in Manono Tai. There are twenty people in managed isolation and four in ICU at the Moto’otua Hospital," the report reads.

"Members of the public are reminded to remain vigilant and adhere to public health advice to wear face masks, maintain 2 meter social distancing in public places and ensure safe personal hygiene at all times.

The Government also advises those who are feeling unwell to stay home and isolate to keep families and loved ones safe.

"Please ensure eligible members of the household are vaccinated at the earliest possible. Vaccination remains our best defense against COVID-19," the report reads.
