M.O.H confirms over 600 community cases from the 24th to the 26th of April
Total number of community cases rises to 8,923 as the Ministry of Health (M.O.H.) confirmed 644 new community cases earlier this week.
This was revealed in a Situational Report on the COVID-19 pandemic from the Ministry of Health on Thursday afternoon.
According to the report, the M.O.H. confirmed 644 community cases from the 24th to the 26th of April and this brings the total number of community cases to 8,923.
A situational report issued on Tuesday confirmed that there were 2,214 community cases from the 17th to the 24th of April with a total number of 8,280.
The situational report released on Thursday states that there are 19 patients currently in managed isolation and one in ICU at the Tupua Tamasese Meaole Hospital.
"COVID-19 cases at Port of Entry (P.O.E.) total 72 including one (1) new positive border cases confirmed in the last 48 hours," the report reads
"The public is reminded to remain vigilant and adhere to public health advice such as wearing face masks, maintaining social distance in public places, and ensure personal hygiene at all times. Those who are feeling unwell are strongly advised to stay home and isolate to keep your families and loved ones safe.
"Vaccination remains our best defense against COVID-19. The national vaccination roll out continues to date. Please visit the nearest vaccination site if you have not completed your doses, or to do a booster dose."
