New M.P For Vaimauga No.3 Sworn In

Lautimuia Uelese Vaai sworn in as MP for Vaimauga #3

Lautimuia Uelese Vaai took his oath as the new Member of Parliament for Vaimauga No.3 constituency on Tuesday morning this week infront of hundreds of friends , loved ones and supporters at the Parliament House in Mulinu'u.

Running under the political party and current Government , Faatuatua I Le Atua Samoa ua Tasi ( F.A.S.T) , new M.P Lautimuia has officially fulfilled the seat that was recently vacated by the late H.R.P.P MP Tapunu'u Niko Lee Hang who passed away in November last year.

The official swearing in ceremony which was part of the Parliaments first memo on Tuesday morning , took place inside the House of Representatives before the Speaker of the House Papalii Taeau Masipa'u where M.P Lautimuia was welcome and acknowledged greatly by parliamentarians and Government officials. 

Lautimuia is no stranger within Government works and has been a public servant for more than 30years ,where he has served Samoa.He was also recently the Chief Executive Officer (C.E.O) for the Samoa Shipping Services (S.S.S) which is under the Ministry of Works , Transportaion and Infrastructure (M.W.T.I).

The newly elected Member of Parliament hails from the villages of Magiagi and Vaisala in Savaii. A candidate who won the 2023 By-Election and managed to succeed with 400 votes for the overall preliminary counts by the Office of the Electoral Commision (O.E.C).

Mr Lautimuia Uelese Vaai is the nephew of former Samoa Prime Minister Va'ai Kolone who was running under the H.R.P.P at the time and was also a member of the Council of Deputies for the House. 

 The Vaimauga No.3 MP in his list of agendas for his reign aims to prioritize education , employment and business development for members and residents within the Vaimauga No.3 constituency he will now represent.
