Emotions were high at the National University of Samoa's graduation
ceremony on Thursday as the grandfather of a deceased N.U.S student
was presented with a certificate on behalf of his late grandson Aroni
Rasch who had recently passed away due to being diagnosed
with cancer.

Hundreds of people that crowded the university's gymnasium at
Lepapaigalagala were left with tears in their eyes as the grandfather
of Aroni received his grandsons certificate.

The crowd at the National University of Samoa (N.U.S) appalled
with appraisal when the certificate was presented. It was as if the
overall top student had been announced.

A phenomenal scene that was witnessed by many, the public's reaction
towards it made the proceedings even more compassionate. Family ,
loved ones and fellow graduates of Aroni Rasch cheered aloud when his
name was announced. The cheer doubled in sound as the announcement
that his father (name) will retrieve the certificate on his behalf.
Truly a moment to remember by his close family and friends that were present .

According to  Aronis' aunty Teni , he was the family's baby. He was
adored among many loved ones and many have been left heartbroken with
his passing. A strong believer in Christ and has served his family and
his people well. Aroni was truly someone everyone loved.

"When Lionel (our eldest child) was born (followed closely by his
sisters), Aroni automatically took on the big brother role and would
be the default name we (mostly I) would call out for the feaus
concerning the kids.

The occasional, “Arooooni, sau si’i le kama…” it
was “Aroooni” this “Aroni” that" she stated in heartfelt eulogy
online.

Aroni is remembered by his family and friends as loving kind and would help anyone in need with anything. This moment was for his family and friends.
