4 NEW COVID-19 RELATED DEATHS BRING NATIONAL DEATH TOLL TO 7

In an Official Press Release received Saturday evening (April 9th) The Ministry of Health confirmed four more COVID-19 related deaths in the last 24 hours, bringing the National death toll to seven.

The latest COVID-19 Situation Summary was prepared by the Ministry of Health and covers a reporting period from 2pm April 7th, to 2pm April 8th, 2022.

According to the latest report all four of the deceased were Males above 50 years of age. However, three of the deceased were also known to have pre-existing health conditions.

The first is a Male of 56 years old, who the report also notes was unvaccinated. He was however a known diabetic with an amputation in 2019, and was bed-bound secondary to stroke.

The second is a Male of 69 years old, who had completed both vaccinations as well as a booster dose. The male was also a known diabetic, with end stage renal disease on dialysis who presented with history of infected burn wounds leading to sepsis.

The third case is a 59 year old male with known high blood pressure with heart complications. According to the report the deceased had completed one dose of vaccinations.

The final case, a Male of 74 years of age however, had no known medical conditions, and had completed his first dose.

The report also states that “The death count is subject to change following full verification of all reported COVID-19 deaths.”
