Legendary basketball champion, center Dr. Shaquille O’Neal has accepted an invitation from the Samoa Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (S.A.S.N.O.C.) to visit the country as the guest of honour for the 2023 Samoa Games.
All Health Restrictions Nixed; Filipino Traveler Recounts “Trauma” Of Being Denied Entry At Faleolo
A business owner says the decision to nix all health restrictions and fully open Samoa’s borders to travelers is “good news” after an employee from the Philippines was denied entry at Faleolo International Airport early this month.
Effective Thursday, 22 September, travelers to Samoa are no longer required to meet stringent health restrictions that were part of Samoa’s travel advisory meant to safeguard the country from the COVID-19 virus and its variants.
First palolo rising predicted for 16 October
This year’s initial palolo rising is predicted to take place on Sunday, 16 October with some resorts in Savai’i already in high gear to welcome the highly coveted ocean delicacy with a festival.
The predicted date is based on traditional knowledge that says the first rising of the palolo occurs seven days after October’s full moon.

The Minister of Finance, Hon. Mulipola Anarosa Ale Molio’o has announced new changes in Retail Petroleum Prices, effective from 1st September 2022.
Earlier today The Honorable Minister advised of the latest changes in a Press Release which noted a decrease in Maximum Retail Prices for the month.
